History of Frisco, NC

Much like the rest of the Outer Banks, Frisco was first inhabited by the Algonquin Indians centuries before the English arrived in the late 1500s. Archeologists now believe that members of the Lost Colony moved further south to Frisco due to recent English artifacts they have discovered. Once English colonization began to take off, settlers started trickling into Frisco in the 1700s and 1800s and referred to the area as Trent. The town name changed to Frisco in 1898 by the U.S. Post Office.
