The last stop on Hatteras Island is the village of Hatteras. This southernmost community is the place to be if you want to catch blue marlin and waves. When the warm water from the Gulf Stream mixes with the cold water from the Labrador Current, big waves are soon to follow. Located just 15 miles from the Gulf Stream, Hatteras is one of the largest estuarine systems in the world, making it the hub for commercial and charter fishing. The promise of waves, fishing and fresh seafood continues to draw visitors from all over the world. The area features quaint cottages and impressive vacation rental homes that accommodate a wide range of budgets.
